Johan Stael von Holstein that was born in Pernau 1636 moved as a soldier in the swedish army to Narva and he and his sons all fought in the great northerna war. Most of them died but those who survied came some of them to start Swedish bransches 1721 when the Great northern ended 1721. Georg (Gustaf) Stael von Holstein (b. 1666 d. 1720) had been taken prisoner by the russian at the battle of Leisna and died in Jaroslaw 1720. His son Johan was married to a swedish girl and had a place to stay in Sweden so he and his family started the Swedish bransch of the familj.
